First, we dropped off the kidlets (who were sooo excited about having a sleepover with Grandma & Grandpa!). Then, we made our way to a nice Spanish restaurant in Salt Lake City. The food made me feel completely transported...their seafood & meat paella was seriously heavenly. And, while it would have been more authentic if I continued gorging myself until the plate was clean, i knew no one's feelings would be hurt if i didn't.
The next day, we sleept in, then feasted on blueberry pancakes, sparkling cider, grapes and orange juice. We took our time getting ready, then dropped by the sporting goods store to rent cross-country skis for the day.
We had a lot of fun (including several crashes... a few of which ended with me laughing hysterically as I tried unsuccessfully to get up.) Clint continued to assure me that bears do indeed hibernate, so I was only on the look-out for wolves and foxes. (Paranoid? maybe a little.)
Anyhow, after a nice lunch, we made our way back to the kids. They had a wonderful time...thanks Grandma & Grandpa! And i always love spending one-on-one time with the love of my life! Here's to many more decades! (well, not too many...i'd really rather go before the dementia hits...)
I kept meaning to leave a message on your FB yesterday. I can't believe you've been married for ten years!
ReplyDeleteYour date weekend sounded so nice! I kept thinking we had to do something big like a trip for that anniversary, but your weekend sounds perfect.
Congratulations. You two really do compliment each other, and your family is obviously one of our very favorites in the world.
What a fun weekend. Congratulations on 10 years! I can't believe it's been that long. I'm glad I was there to see it all begin...you guys really are a great couple, always have been. :)
ReplyDeleteEm, without you it may never have begun. So THANK YOU!!
ReplyDeleteEve, we originally had big plans to re-create our honeymoon along the CA coastline. Then we thought we'd go to a B&B nearby. But, when I realized I was basically looking for the amenities we are already spoiled to have in our own house, we came up with this plan. I think any of the 3 would have been wonderful.
Congratulations! What a great way to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are one of the marriages that we want to emulate. What a romantic weekend. By the way, was it Cafe Madrid?
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Allison and Clint! You're a lovely couple in more ways than one.
