Now, I appreciate just how spoiled we have been in our big 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 3-level house (in Gabe terms, "the huge house"). There are wonderful gathering rooms for schooling, movie watching, and game playing. And the floor plan easily allows each of us the space and privacy to quietly retreat as well*. Plus, did I mention the dishwasher??
We are temporarily taking up residence in my parents' 1,000 square foot 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, single-level house (in Gabe terms, "the tiny house"). This is a whole new ballgame. From my perch right now, I can watch my children eating, hand washing their dishes, watching television, doing schoolwork, playing toys, running around maniacally, or chasing each other with zeal. I won't mention who I'm hearing on the pot right now. These are tight quarters. Here's a photo taken by our computer of the main living area:

| I love this room and all the light that comes in from the lime groves surrounding us. |
*Our beloved home is still for sale (at a very competitive price); ask me about it if I've tempted you. ;)

That backwards picture is really disorienting to me. I stared at it for like 5 minutes trying to figure out why. Wow. Now I feel confused AND dumb.
ReplyDeleteI ordered my first homeschool supplies today. (Just some art supplies and lap chalkboards for preschool). I am so happy you're here in the "tiny house" and that we're doing preschool together!
I can't believe you guys are already there! I'm glad the move went smoothly, or did it? Hope you are at least enjoying the sunshine!
ReplyDeleteEve, I'm super excited about preschool, too! And the pic was taken by our computer, not from the front door.
ReplyDeleteMarianne, it did go pretty well... if you don't count me totally losing it momentarily the night before we left. ;)
Is that picture on your header new and taken in Cali?
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with how clean your little space is. Keep up the good work and try not to go crazy!
Amber, the header picture was taken when we came here for Christmas; the rest are on fb. And thanks for the encouragement! (A + is that 1000 sq. ft. is much easier to keep clean.)
ReplyDeleteHey - good to see that you made it there safely. We miss you here. Jaxson is in shock that his friend is gone.
ReplyDeleteThe lime groves sound heavenly.
