Central CA, here we come!

Just when we felt pushed to our limits, blessings have begun to be showered upon us.  Almost like the very windows of heaven have opened.  (Imagine that.)

Clint had an interview on Wednesday.  He drove 7 hours (in a car the entire air conditioning system had just died in), stayed overnight in a cheap motel, interviewed for 30 minutes, then turned around to make the return trip.  School began two weeks earlier and they found themselves short one math teacher.  They said they would be in touch soon.  After the day passed with no call, and the next one too, he figured it meant the position went to someone else.  We'd independently been praying hard for this specific position; we both felt it was time.  We were deflated.

Turns out they'd spent both days trying to contact his references.  Yesterday, he was offered the position.  He accepted.  And now we're headed to central California.

Six months ago, I wouldn't have believed you if you told me we'd end up there.  I would have laughed in your face.  Probably even worse.  Now, I am thrilled.  Well, minus the moving-away-from-my-extended-family-again part.  It's a rural community, housing is affordable, and it's a secure teaching job.  Turns out the timing of our home selling in Utah was perfect, even though it wasn't much fun having a house on the market for 11 months.  It's funny how the Plan rarely matches up with my plan.  I'm just glad for course corrections.

  1. We are so happy for you guys. Sad that you'll be far away again, of course. And I haven't even thought about how I'm going to break the news to Wren!
